Meditation Techniques For Beginners

What is life without happiness and contentment? Full of stress. Meditation cannot be described, it can only be experienced.

While medications bring in side effects to any problem, the side effects of meditation only include confidence, positivity, self-belief, contentment, patience and sorry to pause but they are really countless (many which you may never be able to express to anyone). You can take the help of many free meditation videos to guide you through your initial steps into meditation.

For beginners, there are some simple steps to help you reap the immense benefits of meditation:

Counting your Breaths

This is perhaps the simplest meditation technique for beginners.

Concentrate on your each breath that goes in and out. This helps you tap its rhythm, it is in fact but natural to find it hard to concentrate. So, do not be disappointed and start tapping the rhythm of your breath again. Do not stress your mind by trying too hard to regulate your breath.

Try breathing initially without counting for a few minutes and when you believe your breathing is at a regular pace and cycle, then start counting it.

Set targets on the basis of the duration or number of breaths and gradually increase them.

Important Note: After you are done, the process of opening your eyes, accepting the surroundings and getting up should be slow and gradual.

Visualization Method of Meditation (Essentially for tension and stress)

In this method, sit down, close your eyes and start breathing like in the previous form. Now, start visualizing your each breath going in through your nose, filling up your lungs and as it goes out.

Start to visualize all the positive thoughts coming in and the negative thoughts going out with each breath.

Then visualize an image or situation that instills a feeling of calmness and serenity in you.

Gradually visualize all your senses like smell and touch.

Flame Mediation

In this method, light and place a candle at eye level in a semi dark room.

Prior to focusing on the candle, sit down close your eyes and do deep breathing like in the previous methods.

Next, open your eyes and focus on the flame while breathing deeply.

Do not think of anything but the flame.

Now, close your eyes and visualize the flame for as long as you can conveniently.

When the image of the flame disappears while your eyes are closed, open your eyes and focus on the flame again.

With all the ways to lose weight, why are so many people still struggling to slim down? After losing over 30 pounds some 14 years ago, I have eight quick weight loss tips to help you see fast weight loss results.

Quick Weight Loss Tip #1: Assess where you are at right now. If you would like to see quick weight loss results, think about what is keeping you from attaining your thin goals. Are you eating for emotional reasons or stress eating? If so, find positive outlets for your stress and emotions. Enjoying a nice soak in the tub, lighting incense, going for a walk with the dogs and or finding some time to meditate might be just what your thin self needs to slim down.

Quick Weight Loss Tip #2: Ask yourself some tough questions. Weight loss coaches are known for getting helping clients get to the source of what is really going on with their clients. Some questions you may want to examine include: What are your weight loss goals? Why do you want to achieve these goals?

When do you want to achieve them by? What is required step-by-step to attain my weight loss goals? What is one thing I can do this week to move closer to my quick weight loss goals? Do I need a weight loss coach for accountability? Hunker down and get honest with yourself regarding what you are truly committed to and put together a realistic plan to get you there. If you need a weight loss coach or support along the way, don’t be afraid to ask.

Try moving away from feeling like you have to do something a certain way in order to see results. Having certain foods you must eat or days you must workout may just be too much structure for you.

As a weight loss coach, I believe that putting rigid guidelines on your food and exercise regiment often causes bingeing backlash. Set up loose goals like exercising three times each week without defining which day or eating once each day like a naturally thin person. Having these grey areas, versus living in black or white, will keep you level headed and enjoying consistent quick weight loss results.

Quick Weight Loss Tip #7: One fast ways to lose weight is to write your goals down and look at them at least a few times a week. Each time you look at your weight loss goals, you will activate your brain. To activate your brain further and enjoy faster weight loss results, feel your goals as well.

Feel as though these goals are attainable, doable and that they are on their way.By writing and feeling your goals, you are sure to see quicker weight loss results than those who don’t do this.

Quick Weight Loss Tip #8: Are you in the habit of making nasty comments about yourself or your body? As a weight loss coach, I see this every day in my practice. You must knock it off and here’s a fun way to shed negative self talk.

Each time you say something negative about your body, your weight, or how you look –put a quarter in a kitchen jar.

If each family member commits to this, before you know it your entire family will begin enjoying quick weight loss results while feeling spectacular. Then, at the end of the month, go splurge on some family fun or donate to a cause you believe in.

So what is intuition exactly?

b) immediate apprehension or cognition;
c) knowledge or conviction gained by intuition; or
d) the power or faculty of attaining to direct knowledge or cognition without evident rational thought and inference

To most of us, intuition is that little voice in your head that sometimes tells you what to do when you are most confused. It is that feeling in your gut that sometimes tells you whether you should or should not trust that person that you just met. It is a natural gift that we are born with, along with our five senses of touch, taste, sight, sound and smell.

If we are not comfortable enough with our intuition we won’t be able to recognize that voice, even if we listened to it. We know for sure we heard it. We just have no idea where does it come from.

There are many benefits to honing your intuition skills. According to experts, building your intuition skills can help build your emotional, physical and spiritual health.

5 easy steps to boost your intuition skills

Many people don’t think they are intuitive. But it is actually fairly simple to develop your intuition. Here are five easy tips you can practice to develop your intuition skills:

1. Get In Touch With Your Feelings

Most of us are so out of touch and out of tune with how we truly feel inside that we walk around with a feeling of numbness. It’s either that or we are a bundle of nerves, created from stress at work or at home…

The worst is when we suppress our ‘gut feelings’ and ignore them. When was the last time your guts tried to tell you something and you ignored it? Did it come true? Did you smack your forehead and said “I KNEW IT!”

Trusting your gut feelings it’s something you should start doing from now onwards, if you want to boost your intuition.

2. Meditate

Meditation is definitely one of the best ways to help you build your intuition skills as it is generally used to clear the mind of clutter

Clutter can block your intuition from coming through and with meditation, you will not only have clearer and sharper thoughts, you will also see drastic improvements to the power of your mind as it not only opens up the senses, but it quiets the mind and increases your vibration, both necessary for increased intuition.

3. Listen To Your Body

Most of the time, our body reacts to our environment but because we have not sharpened our bodies’ intuitions abilities, we tend to ignore it as ‘just a feeling’.

Sometimes our bodies try to tell us if something is right or wrong, and most of the time, its right.

For example, if our bodies suddenly tense up or pulls away from a situation, it is an indicator that something is not right, while expansion and relaxation means that everything is alright!

4. Play Games With Your Mind

This is a great way to build your intuition skills, and its fun too! So the next time telephone rings, try to guess who it is. Check out how many times you can actually guess who is calling. The more you practice, the more you are building your intuition muscles.

You can also create games yourself. Some of my favorites are guessing when the traffic light will turn green next and what color the next car that passes by my window is!

5. Believe in your first impressions.

When you see someone for the first time and think that he is a bit too arrogant for your taste, chances are that impression actually holds true. Most of the time, first impressions are brought by intuition, so even though your rational mind tells you that you are ‘being silly’, why not trust your intuition a little and ‘file’ that thought in your mind until it proves itself to be true.

Remember, anyone can develop their intuition. Follow these easy steps to boost your intuition and you will enter the dimension of your inner thoughts!
