Binaural Tones Are Really Worth Listening Too, Really

Mind Brain entrainment  with binaural tones applied is part of a beneficial phenomenom that occurs basically when listening to selected variations of sound waves of varying frequencies. But, the question is, do binaural beats work as many vehemently claim ?

Binaural beats are when two sounds or tones that are rather close in pitch, but not identical, are played separately into each ear via headphones to create one, seemingly single sound . The discovery of binaural beats is largely credited to a man named Heinrich Wilhelm Dove who is said to have first noted the auditory phenomenon back in 1839.

But, little else was said on the subject after then until finally in the early 1970s when an article entitled “Auditory Beats in the Brain” by Gerald Oster was published in Scientific American that offered insightful information and new findings based on recent laboratory research on the subject.

Oster was convinced binaural beats were able to have a direct effect on the brain and could be an extremely useful tool for cognitive and neurological purposes as well as being a potentially effective way of diagnosing certain medical conditions. But, do binaural beats work for everyone automatically or are there things you can do to ensure you will make the most of binaural beat technology?

During the day dependent on your state of consciousness , electrical activity or brain waves function in your brain with changing frequencies and cycles. “Tuning” the brain by listening to sounds of certain frequencies, or brainwave entrainment, may bring about the ideal state for meditation, relaxation, self hypnosis, or simply for personal development.

But what else do binaural beats work for besides relaxation? Plenty from relieving stress , tension, worry or anxiety to using the technology for medical benefits as well as simply helping people lose weight or stop smoking.

A separation of one’s conscious and subconscious minds is also reported while listening to binaural beats and a deep feeling of sedation is rather common. Some people also say they experience visual “hallucinations” in the form of seeing bright, vivid colors and patterns. Step One: Meditation – Recline or sit and relax, both body and mind. The idea behind this meditation practice is to bring your mind and body into harmony with each other . Use your powers of imagination to visualize this – this will relax your mind and free you from the stress of the day.

Step Three: Take 20 minutes – This relaxation practice will make you aware of your inner capacity for self development while only taking up twenty minutes from your daily schedule .

Meditation should be practiced at least once a day, twice daily if possible. Relaxing via meditation will make you more aware of the stresses which cause you to make bad decisions. The consequences of these decisions will make you feel poorly about yourself – it’s a vicious cycle. Before you know it, you’ll be facing depression and all of its attendant side effects. Take control of your life again by using the practice of meditation to improve your self-development capacity.

Very few are able to gather the courage to pursue the spiritual journey of self exploration through meditation, the courage to periodically leave all of our goals aside and just be, just relax. Meditation can help reduce stress and open the doors to nurture the peace and joy in our lives. But to make it happen, in the beginning one needs a guide and a proper space supportive and safe environment.

The Inner Metamorphosis University in Rogers Park, Chicago is one such center which has helped and guided many people towards the path of self discovery. Their “Meditation For Beginners” is one workshop aimed not only to help people who have either just started but also to encourage those who are experienced in meditation and to those who wish to inculcate meditation deepen the meditative quality in their daily lives. To learn the beauty of which it can add to your life their lives.

Meditation has never been subjective to any age, the young and the young at heart are always welcome to the beginners workshop. In this workshop, one will find a blend of silent and active meditations, of dance, of inner questioning, breath awareness and stillness.
Silent Meditation can be practiced by anyone irrespective of their backgrounds. One is guided to release the thoughts and feelings that arise without associating oneself from it with them. This allows you one not to think about neither past nor the future but to bring you one in the present moment. In this process one discovers that thoughts and feelings do not stick to us, we stick to them by giving them importance. Dancing meditation is a wonderful way to meditate with rhythmic beats that surround you.  Allowing the music to bring you to a particular state of mind which permits you to enjoy and relax throughout the session.

The inner questioning meditation allows you to learn how to look at your life’s circumstances and beliefs, attitudes and your self-image; and with this new-gained clarity allowing you to make choices that will align with your inner self.
Breath-awareness which allows you to focus on the rhythm of your inhalation and exhalation.  In the process of which you become in tune with the sounds of your breath allows you to slow your mind down which automatically triggers your body to relax. The process of coming in tune with your breath automatically triggers your body to relax, which in turn allows your mind to slow down. Then there is stillness. meditation in which we are to clear our minds and keep it so throughout the meditation whether with music or in deep silence.
The optional sharing session is a wonderful chance for you to share your meditative experiences with others during the workshop. Putting your experiences into words makes your discoveries more graspable and therefore easier to access again after the workshop in your life. It also gives one you insights about other’s experiences and the uniqueness as well as oneness of all of us.

What’s The Best Guided Meditation Relaxation Method?

When you search online or even in a store, there’s an enormous number of choices for a guided meditation relaxation track. Does it matter which one you choose or are they all equally effective?

In my view, there’s a world of difference between the different styles of guided meditation relaxation methods available, so let’s have a quick look at what’s around so you can make the best decision for you.

Spoken guided meditation relaxations

These are quite common. They may or may not have a backing music track but the main idea is that the meditation download will talk you through the stages of relaxing so that you don’t have to do anything other than follow the instructions.

The most important thing with this type of guided meditation is that you actually get along with the voice that’s doing the guiding. If the voice grates then there’s no way you’re going to relax as much as if you find the voice soothing.

Whilst that may sound self-evident, it’s well worth finding a snippet of the particular guided meditation relaxation track you’re interested in if you haven’t bought anything from that person before.

Binaural beats guided meditations

These don’t usually rely on the spoken word, although occasionally you may come across a spoken guided meditation that uses binaural beats in the background.

Typically, the chosen binaural beat frequencies will be chosen to help your mind get into the same kind of state that would occur when you relax.

Since there are different states of relaxation deepness, it pays to check what level of relaxation your chosen meditation MP3 is intended to take you to.

Quite often these will be described in terms of things like Alpha or Theta brainwaves. These are named after letters in the Greek alphabet but don’t follow through alphabetically as the states weren’t discovered “in order”.

Delta is the deepest state but you may find that something that aims to take your mind to the Theta level is more relaxing for you, so it’s worth experimenting.

Meditate regularly

Meditation isn’t a one-off “fix”. Although it can help you to relax, it works better when used reasonably consistently.

So if you can find a way to fit in regular meditation into your daily or weekly schedule, chances are that you’ll get better results over time than if you just decide to use a guided meditation relaxation once in a blue moon.
