The Yoga: Core Cross Train is a truly intense workout that will definitely have your midsection in shape in time for the summer.

A definite plus of Yoga: Core Cross Train is that is features two 30-minute workouts. The workouts are definitely designed to target your core area. If you are not familiar with what is considered your core area, then it is your abdominal section. It is the section that packs on the pounds the fastest and is generally considered a high risk area. The moves and positions are definitely trying and even experienced yoga practitioners will find themselves challenged. So what does that mean for those just beginning yoga?

If you are a beginner to core training and to yoga, then you do not have to worry too much. Most of the poses are easy to get into, yet if you cannot hold them for as long as Yee does, do not worry. Secret Meditations : Using the law of attraction

If only beginning piano players realized that they could create their own unique music right away, perhaps more of them would.

What I mean is this…most students, young and old alike know only 2 ways to learn piano. The first way is the classical route. Here, note reading and playing of the classics is taught.

The second way is playing pop standards from either fake books or fully written music sheets.

That’s it! That’s what most people think of when they’re considering learning the piano. But, it doesn’t have to be that way at all. For instance, if you only know 2 chords and the notes of the scale or Key these chords are in, then that’s all you need to simply BE at the piano.

Imagine allowing the music to just flow forth from your fingers. There is no thinking involved. No forethought of what is to come. Just a simple act of sitting down and playing. This method of piano plying is completely foreign to 99 percent of music students. Even Jazz, which is seemingly all about improvisation, requires a much more rigorous and thorough approach.

Instead of taking months or even years to prepare yourself to play piano, I suggest a complete attitudinal change. What I’m talking about is radical, yet will make perfect sense as soon as you read it and it’s this:

DON’T MAKE THE MUSIC MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU ARE!

What do I mean by this? Simple. Most musicians have a lot of ego and want people to praise them and tell them how good they are. Now, there’s nothing wrong with a little ego stroking, but music can give you as much as you are willing to let go and allow. This simply means that you let up on the need to control where the music is going. Instead, you allow the music to guide you to where it wants to go!

I know this sounds like mystical wordplay, but think about it and you’ll see that I’m right. You see, the problem most students have is that they think they need to learn a lot of theory before they can be any “good” at the piano.

They also think they have to be “good enough” before they even attempt playing piano. These beliefs are sure to stop you dead in your tracks. You are more important than the music, which is to say,, who cares how good or bad it sounds. The real question is are you enjoying yourself. If so, then you are way ahead of the game!

How Can I Keep From Falling Asleep During Meditations?

I have tried a variety of guided meditations for relaxation, better energy, a pick-me-up in the middle of the day etc. They’re supposed to gently relax you then gradually bring you back up and supposedly you should emerge feeling refreshed and alert. Problem is, no matter what the meditation is, I just fall into a dead slumber and don’t wake up for a few hours. Any ideas on how to reap the benefits without going down for a lengthy nap every time?

How Just-in-time Thinking Can Destroy Your Life

Exaggeration and over-generalization are common logical mistakes. This is why, to a good extent, we have grown insensitive to them.

The human mind is naturally inclined to analyse facts, look for patterns, identify common causes, and draw conclusions to be used in the future. This is how knowledge is acquired and expanded.

Even when facts are insufficient to sustain complex logical connections, our thirst for certainty can lead us to exaggerate and over-generalize.

Logical errors do not base their appeal on evidence, but on man’s desire to control his environment and predict the future.

The problem with inconsistent ideas is that they don’t work.

* Every minute that you devote to arguing in favour of a logical error is a wasted minute.
* Every time that someone tries to implement it in real life, waste will be the likely result.

“Pursuing the impossible is the wrong kind of ambition,” wrote Emperor Marcus Aurelius in his Meditations in the year 176 C.E. “Unfortunately, such attempt is common to many men.”

Just-in-time production techniques are widespread in Japan. Since their introduction 50 years ago, just-in-time principles have greatly contributed to reducing the cost and increasing the quality of complex industrial products such as motor vehicles.

In our days, this philosophy enjoys universal popularity amongst managers and has become a central subject of study in business schools around the world. Running a factory according to just-in-time principles involves six steps:

1. Determine which features customers want in a product.
2. Identify the steps that are necessary to manufacture that product.
3. Eliminate any steps that are not needed.
4. Ensure that each step is performed at a constant speed (just in time).
5. Avoid over-production and under-production at each step.
6. Maintain process stability by allocating sufficient resources to each step.

Just-in-time thinking has proven highly effective in car manufacturing under conditions of growing market demand and stable consumer preferences.

Nevertheless, its positive results in that area cannot not be taken as a success guarantee under all conditions. That would constitute a case of exaggeration and over-generalization.

Assuming that what is true under certain circumstances has universal application can lead us to mistakes in other areas.

As it frequently happens, reality shows us a more complex truth:

* DEVELOPING A VISION IS A KEY ENTREPRENEURIAL FUNCTION. Human behaviour cannot be mathematically predicted. Surveys of consumer preferences have proven repeatedly ineffectual. No success formula is written in stone. Determining what new products should look like is a key entrepreneurial decision.

* ASSESSING MARKETS IS PART OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP. Process regularity and employment stability are highly desirable, but markets often disrupt the best intentions. There is no way to predict with certainty how many products will be sold and at which price. Assessing the strength of consumer demand is an essential task of the entrepreneur.

* ENTREPRENEURS DETECT MARKET CHANGES. Constant production speed (just-in-time) is not an end in itself. Consumers always have the final say. Determining which production and delivery speed suit markets best is a fundamental entrepreneurial decision.

Despite its extraordinary contribution to enhancing quality and productivity, the just-in-time approach cannot replace the role played by entrepreneurs.

“When the eye looks at the world, it wants to perceive every colour,” observed Marcus Aurelius two thousand years ago. “When the mind looks at reality, it should be open to perceiving all circumstances.”

Look at reality with your own eyes, assess where the best opportunities lie, and decide which course of action you should follow. No formula and no ritual can replace the entrepreneurial mind of the individual.

As you doubtless know, he was Roman, and the only excerpts I have ever seen have been in Latin or translated into one of the “modern” European languages; I ve not read the Meditations. This does not mean that it could not have been written in Greek.

Just as all erudite figures in the middle ages wrote in a form of Latin (Ecclesiastical Latin) as a sign of their learning, so learned Romans often wrote in Greek out of some sort of pedantry and because of their genuine respect for the Hellenic intellectual tradition. They thought, and correctly so, that the Greek texts revealed an intellect superior to their own, and they kept some Greek slaves specifically to tutor themselves and their children in the tongue and the literary and philosophical heritage of Greece..
