Simple Meditation Techniques : Chakra Meditation

One of the best decisions I have ever made was to use my love of writing as the perfect medium to not only build my business on, but to use as the perfect excuse to feed my curious, naturally inquisitive nature as well. I have a ferocious hunger for understanding anything that is put in front of me that even slightly peaks my interest. I am so passionate about acquiring as much information as I can attain, sufficient to say, Science -Particularly the field of Physics (there are 16 separate disciplines by the way!) gets my complete and full attention – every time – without any exception. That being said, investigating Bill Harris’s story and researching his back ground was one of my real “Brain Feeds” during the course of my writing about the players in the movie The Secret.

Let me tell you -this guy is INCREDIBLE! He has mastered the art of merging scientific measure, brain function and meditation into one amazing medium that is truly without question -sheer genius! i.e. A study was done on individuals that were both practitioners of meditation and those that were not. These individuals where then connected by electrodes placed on their scalp to a device called a Mind Mirror which is a type of EEG machine that was essentially used to measure alpha, delta, beta, and theta waves that showed what was happening in the interior hemisphere of the brain while the subjects were subjected to a series of tests that exposed them to different exercise elements and at various levels of consciousness.

The results were astonishing! The difference between the two groups -were so far off as night form day or black from white, thus showing the meditators in a much more “balanced” state in relation to the areas of both the left and right sides of the brain “sharing” information on a nearly equal level equating to a type of brain synchronization if you will. Meanwhile the brain wave activity in the non-mediators showed a clear and dominant reign in the left side of the participants’ brains, indicating that they were attempting to “compensate” using the minds logic to take in the material it was exposed to.

So in plain English what does that mean to both you and I? It means that the type of meditation that Bill Harris has developed and introduced to his students becomes a kind of balancing device that gives a greater level of harmony to the brain – in other words the mind doesn’t have to work so hard to navigate its way around a suggestion or new idea. It instead works in union with both sides of the brain and takes its suggested lead from the information it is being fed via audiotapes they listen to in a meditative-like state utilizing the science of what is called Audio Holosync Technology. This there by no longer forces the meditator to consciously work around old, archaic and negative or fearful beliefs -clearing the way to a healthier state of mind quicker and with much greater end results! I have been in Judo for about a year now. Is it the right martial art for me?

I am a large guy. Built like a truck. I began with Judo as a way to get myself in shape mentally as well as physically while dealing with immense stressors. A close friend of my father is a Hachidan, so it made it a simple choice to join him in his workouts and meditation. Anyway, while I enjoy it very much, I am not sure if it’s what’s best for me. I was a heavyweight wrestler and football player in high school. I have always been very strong. Since judo is often about using momentum of the opponent to your advantage, I don’t often have the opportunity to use my strength to my advantage. Should I switch to another art? Should I crosstrain in another art? Thanks for your input.

Judo is an excellent foundational art. Many famous westener martial artists started out with judo, eg Chuck Norris (while in the army) and Australia’s Richard Norton.
If you want to take advantage of your strength why not consider crosstraining in a strength based striking martial art? Karate, boxing and kickboxing are all styles that take advantage of ones strength. Afterall, if you can take out an attacker with a single strong punch to the jaw, then there will be no need for throwing and grappling.
Finally, if you enjoy your Judo training don’t give it up because it teaches excellent practical skills, however if you are considering training in another style, crosstrain in one of the martial art’s i mentioned for a while before you decide if you want to give up on Judo altogether.

The art of meditation is pretty complex and you must be wondering how I am going to teach you how to meditate deeply one article. Let me be quite frank with you it is not possible to learn and master meditation that easily. However, once you get the hang of it there is nothing more that can offer you that much mental peace.

With this art mastered you can successfully organize your thoughts, relax and even have a very good chance to improve your health. It is not that easy to focus because most of us get easily distracted with things around us. We very easily let stress take control over us. There are many things that need to be considered when you are about to meditate deeply. Here are a few tips to help you on your journey.

There are several things to keep in mind when learning how to meditate deeply. First, consider the length of time or the duration for which you meditate. This really plays an important role because the more time you devote to learning to meditate deeply, the better your results. Next, know that the place you meditate is really important. Fewer disturbances will allow calmer meditation. The goal is to release anxiety and stress, not to surround yourself with it. Another point to remember is that you need to master your breathing. You must make sure that you take deep breaths. Finally, to achieve the best and deepest meditation, have excellent posture. Keep your back erect and try not to hunch. For people who find it a problem and tend to hunch involuntarily, try sitting in front of a plane surface to get back support.

With many stressors and demands on our daily lives, it is important to take care of our whole selves. If you spend the time to learn how to meditate deeply, it will be well worth the effort.

The Top Ten Tips for Living in Love in 2011

What’s the one thing that would make 2011 your best year ever? More money? A better job? Losing 20 pounds? As great as those might be, there’s something else that I guarantee will create a magical year: love. Not Hollywood or Hallmark-card kind of love, but love as a state of being: the kind of love I call Love for No Reason.

Is it possible to live in a state of unconditional love all of the time? That’s the question I set out to answer in my latest book, Love for No Reason.

After interviewing more than 150 people I call “Love Luminaries,” including scientists, psychologists, spiritual teachers, and people whose lives were rich in the qualities of the heart, I found that they all share certain qualities that anyone can develop to experience more unconditional love.

  1. Anchor Yourself in Safety. Feeling stressed, unsupported, or fearful takes love off-line. To quickly switch out of stress mode, take a few deep breaths and consciously relax your pelvic floor, located at the base of your body. This kick-starts your parasympathetic system and activates the physiology of unconditional love.
  2. Sense Your Support. Choose to believe that this is a friendly universe. When you find yourself facing a challenging situation, , look for the ways that the situation is ultimately serving you. Ask yourself, Is this for my enjoyment, growth, or both?
  3. Feel Your Feelings. Research shows that stifling your emotions or expressing them excessively is equally damaging to your capacity to experience love. Luckily, there’s a third option: feeling your feelings. Practice experiencing your feelings directly and completely by observing them as they move through your mind and body—and then letting them go.
  4. Practice Self-Compassion. Try a simple self-love technique that brings you into your heart and reminds you to treat yourself with care. Throughout the day, ask yourself, What’s the most loving thing I can do for myself right now? or What’s the most loving way I can be with myself right now? And then pay attention to the answer.

  5. Unleash the Power of Forgiveness. Use the ancient Hawaiian kahuna forgiveness technique of Ho’oponopono to clear your blocks to love. Based on the principle of taking total responsibility for everything that happens to you, the technique consists of sitting quietly and mentally repeating, “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you,” over and over.
  6. Let Love In. Research shows that when you receive, your levels of serotonin – the neurotransmitter of well-being and happiness – rise just as much as when you give. The next time someone offers you a gift –a present, a compliment, or some assistance – smile and say thank you, while consciously feeling appreciation in your heart.

  7. Live with a Grateful Heart. Start your own gratitude practice by consciously registering and savoring all that you’re receiving right now. Gratitude is the fast track to love. List five things you are grateful for at the end of each day. It turned my life around and it will do the same for yours.

  8. Wish Others Well. Try “beaming love” to people—your friends and family, as well as strangers you pass in the street. It fills your own heart in the process.

  9. Listen for the Subtitles. Create a safe space for others to communicate with you by being sensitive to the unspoken feelings and needs that underlie people’s words. When you listen from your heart, your body’s fear system shuts off, culturing more compassion and love.
  10. Plug in to a Larger Heart. Love thrives when we feel at peace inside. Recharge your spiritual batteries through silence, meditation, or prayer. Tapping into this inner wellspring of spirit will boost your capacity to experience Love for No Reason by a factor of infinity.

Use these tips to create magic in your life this year. When you’re open-hearted and loving, you attract the good, because you’re radiating the good. What could be more magical than that?

I know that many of you will be thinking what will meditation do for me, why is it so important and of course ‘I don’t have time to sit around trying to clear my head, I’m busy’. Why Are We All Stressed?

With modern day living comes the hectic and ever demanding pace of live, it’s no wonder that many of us feel stressed and overworked and how many of us take this home with us, how many others feel the impact of the stress we feel?

Our stress and tiredness of everyday life lead us to the feelings of unhappiness, frustration and a lack of patience when it comes to dealing with even the most simple every day routines. Not to mention the impact that all this has on our health, the tiredness that we feel, the ever nagging inner voice reminding us that we need to do this and that and the other. Or the demands of our boss, our clients, our family and friends all add up to making life one big stress ball.

‘I’m stressed out’, ‘work is one big stress’, ‘I’m under too much stress’, ‘the kids are stressing me out’, these are all phrases that we are all too familiar with and it is also an acceptable part of every day life.

How Do I Define My Stress?

Stress is hard to define as it means different things to different people; however, one thing that is perfectly clear to all of us is that stress is a negative emotion, negative energy as opposed to positive.

Stress can be both physical and mental. Physical stress could be the result of a lack of sleep, or a poor diet and even an effect of an illness. Mental stress can be worrying about money, or how you’re going to survive retirement, or from experiencing a devastatingly emotional event such as the death of a family member, or being fired from work.

Our Natural Stress Response System

But did you know that much of our stress comes from less dramatic everyday routines. Obligations and pressures which are both physical and mental are not always that obvious to us and in response to these daily strains our body automatically invokes a stress response which floods your body with chemicals which increases your blood pressure, your heart rate, the blood flow to your muscles, your metabolism and your respiration. All of these responses are natural reactions so that our bodies are ready to react quickly and effectively under high pressure situations, termed fight or flight. Now whilst a stress response is useful in true emergency situations when you need to be on alert, it can considerably wear your body down when constantly active.

We are all continuously reacting to stressful situations, which is termed stress response, but without making adjustments in our lives to counter the effects. Stress can cause physical, emotional and behavioral disorders which affect our health, vitality and peace of mind; and of course it also affects our personal and professional relationships. Stress is also the key cause to many minor illnesses such as insomnia, headaches and backaches on top of the life threatening diseases such as high blood pressure and even heard disease.

It is also very true that every person handles stress differently, take for example a major life decision like changing careers, or moving house. I know some of you are cringing at the thought, but I also know that some of you would relish the thought. Whatever may be overwhelming to some people might actually be seen as a welcome change to others. An even simpler example is sitting in traffic, some people find this too much to tolerate tooting their horns and screaming out for more coffee, whilst others just take it in their stride maybe with the help of a little music, or a happy thought.

So what’s the answer? Well, aside from the inexhaustible amount of drugs available to reduce stress, which include free side effects I may add, there’s one very simple and natural way to reduce stress that takes 10 to 20 minutes of your day and has no side effects, meditation.

Why do people look upon being bisexual as a bad thing?

I’m bisexual and happy with it. If ever the issue of being bisexual comes up I’ve heard many people say it’s “greedy” or “weird” or “disgusting” and we should make our minds up. I don’t understand that logic. Isn’t being bisexual good because it allows me to see the beauty in both genders and opens my eyes to love with both males and females?

I've been on a quest to learn photography for quite some time. But it is too focused on technical aspects rather than the creativity involved in the photograph.

A photographer an artist? Even more pressing question: Is there a digital SLR camera has camera for a photographer?

I am pondering these two questions recently about his own pictures. I own a digital SLR camera. This is a Canon 30D. Taken literally tons pictures with the camera. However, sometimes have trouble calls himself a photographer.

Because I have a problem is due to the work of others. I spend hours to see pictures of other people who believe very talented in photography and, for comparison, I think my photos very elegant. However, others look for photographs and accept jurisdiction. My problem, I suppose, is a personal trust.

I shoot, you can stay like Los Peterson and Joe McNally, two of my favorite photographer and teacher. In my eyes, my photos just do not rate in comparison with theirs.

I'm very critical of me to photography activities. Occasionally, I am even more critical to the work of other people who really are called pictures. How can someone be called a photographer is that he does not know an e-stop speed Shutter?

But after a few deep introspection, I realize I'm pretty cynical. Ultimately, the waste to a person is another person treasure, right? Much to my regret, I become a "chicken of pixels", which means more time for technical data and sharpness of artistic and emotional.

This is where it comes into play when art someone to press the shutter button and other reasons to feel something then the photographer is an artist in my humble review.

What if the camera person does not know where you are ISO. Or if the camera's menu is like reading a foreign language Why this matters, even? The most important is that they are like pictures that bring joy, or sadness, or wonder about others.

Another thought is that not everyone is trying to get their photographs taken by National Geographic and People Magazine. They just want to save memory and in this sense are the photographers and artists.

So I end Muse My photography and art, and much I urge you to continue to shoot these photos. Do not be afraid to let imagination takes you to the next shot. He will bring a smile to the face of a friend or you can end up in National Geographic, independently of us Peepers Peru.
